Recovery through targeted infusion therapy for long-COVID

Around 10 to 15 percent of all people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are affected by long/post-COVID syndrome, including a strikingly high number of young people. Those affected most frequently complain of extreme fatigue, shortness of breath and problems with memory and concentration. Treatment options are currently still limited. Mainly supportive measures such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychotherapy are used, as well as attempts at symptom-oriented drug treatment, which, however, often show no positive change. Long-term courses also show typical symptoms that can be attributed to the disease ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome).

Dr. Wagener’s practice supports affected patients with various infusion concepts, also in cooperation with REHAB Basel.

There is still no therapeutic breakthrough with medication for long post-Covid diseases. In addition to many other measures, an attempt at therapy with individual infusions is definitely justified, as a noticeable improvement in physical and psychological symptoms can often be achieved.

As a rule, the infusions are tolerated quite well. It is crucial that the dose is increased very slowly and that regular medical consultations are held to adjust the treatment regimen.

The frequency of an infusion treatment depends on individual factors. A treatment plan is drawn up individually and takes into account all possible influencing factors such as concomitant medication, age, duration and intensity of symptoms and much more.

The infusion is suitable for anyone suffering from long/post-Covid syndrome or ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome).

In principle, it is possible for the costs of the infusion to be covered by suitable supplementary insurance. The neural therapy treatment that is often carried out in addition to the infusion is covered by basic insurance.
