Infusion for Long/Post-COVID & ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue)
Long-lasting exhaustion even after minor physical exertion, concentration problems ("brain fog"), shortness of breath, and an overall significantly reduced quality of life are among the typical symptoms of long/post-COVID and ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). The underlying causes are not yet fully understood. Many sufferers are severely restricted in their everyday lives, both physically and emotionally. Effective drug treatments are not (yet) available. In such a situation, the use of an infusion specifically targeting the underlying mitochondrial dysfunction may be considered.

Treatment details
Support through a targeted infusion for long/post-COVID
An estimated 10–15% of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 develop long or post-COVID syndrome—including a striking number of younger people. The most common symptoms include severe exhaustion, breathing problems, and, in some cases, pronounced memory and concentration problems. In addition, there are so-called “crashes,” i.e., complete breakdowns after even minor physical exertion. Medical treatment options are currently still limited; physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychotherapy, and various medications are primarily used. Nevertheless, most of those affected continue to report significant limitations in their everyday lives.
Salus Medica AG supports patients with individually tailored infusion concepts – in collaboration with REHAB Basel and the Pain Clinic.

Why might a Long/Post-COVID or ME/CFS infusion be beneficial?
To date, there are few therapeutic options for long COVID/post-COVID and ME/CFS. A customized infusion can be tried as a complementary treatment to improve quality of life or prevent further deterioration in quality of life.
What side effects can occur?
The infusions are generally well tolerated. The dosage is adjusted individually according to tolerance and regularly monitored by a doctor.
How often should the infusion be administered?
The frequency of infusions is determined individually and based on symptoms, depending on the patient’s personal condition. The intervals are usually adjusted by a doctor and discussed together during the course of treatment.
Are the costs covered by health insurance?
The treatment is a self-pay service. Depending on the insurance model, the costs may be covered in full or in part by supplementary insurance.
